#10: The PLOP Stack

Welcome back!

We relaunched the publication with a new look and more cool stuff. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

Alright let’s see what we’ve got for today.

The PLOP Stack

Software engineering is a constantly evolving field, with new technologies and programming stacks emerging regularly.

Over the years, we have seen various stacks gain popularity, such as MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), MEAN (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, Node.js), and many more.

However, the latest buzz in the community is about PLOP, which is dominating the feeds of developers on social media platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn.

PLOP stands for

  1. Python,

  2. Langchain,

  3. OpenAI,

  4. and Pinecone.

The PLOP stack offers a powerful combination of tools and frameworks for building efficient and scalable applications for the new age.

You might ask: “That’s cool but what are these tools in the stack??” Great question - let’s go through them one by one.

So first we have Python.

It’s the backbone of everything. It is widely used for AI applications due to its easy-to-learn syntax, vast collection of libraries, and community support.

Then we have Langchain that is a project started by Harrison Chase.

It is a library based on Large Language Models that allows for the creation of advanced language models for chatbots, generative Q&A, summarization, and other applications. Its main concept is to combine various components to enhance LLMs and enable more complex language processing tasks.

Then we have OpenAI. It probably needs no introduction.

And finally we have Pinecone which is a vector database. It’s essentially like a long-term memory for AI.

As with any new stack, it remains to be seen how PLOP will fare in the long run, but its growing popularity is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Alright that’s it for today!
