#13: The latest GPT-4 alternatives

Welcome to the world of prompt engineering!

As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI language models, new models are constantly emerging that offer exciting new capabilities and performance.

Today we’ll present five alternatives to GPT-4.

#13: The latest GPT-4 alternatives

One of the most promising new models is LLaMa released by Meta.

Initially you had to apply for a research license to get the model but somebody leaked it.

It is 13x smaller than GPT-3 but outperforms it on most benchmarks.

One of the key benefits of LLaMa is that you can run it on your local computer, which makes it an accessible choice for non-commercial projects.

Another model that has been making waves is Alpaca, which is a fine-tuned version of LLaMa.

Alpaca is designed to follow instructions similarly to ChatGPT, and it's possible to retrain it for less than $600. This makes Alpaca a great choice for hobby projects.

For those looking for an open-source chat model, Baize is a great option.

Baize uses self-chat data to improve itself and has demonstrated good performance in multi-turn dialogues.

If you're looking for a more powerful language model, GPT4All might be the right choice for you.

With 7 billion parameters, GPT4All has been fine-tuned from a curated set of 400k assistant-style generations. While it may not be as small as some of the other models on this list, it can still be run on a CPU.

Finally, we have Koala 13b, which is another fine-tuned version of LLaMa.

Koala 13b has been shown to match ChatGPT's performance in more than half of the cases. However, it is only intended to be used for research purposes.

As you can see, there are a lot of exciting new options when it comes to GPT-4 alternatives.

Whether you're looking for a smaller model that can run on your local machine, an open-source chat model, or a powerful language model that can match the performance of ChatGPT, there's something on this list for everyone.

We cannot wait to run these models on our toaster.
